Alyssa

Blyss Therapies’ founder and resident Sports Therapist Alyssa is an enthusiastic young woman, passionate about helping others achieve holistic health and wellbeing. Alyssa’s vision is to empower, create awareness and inspire others to live their best possible life by looking after their mind and body.

Alyssa has worked as a Sports Therapist with Blyss for 5 years, treating clients from all walks of life. This also includes elite athletes, through working as a game day trainer and massage therapist with the Richmond Football Club for 5 years and more recently Melbourne Storm.

Alyssa prides herself on continuously learning and expanding her knowledge each year to help better service her clients. Recently she has completed a number of courses including;

  • Advanced Dry Needling
  • Mat Work Pilates
  • Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness
  • Crossfit Level 1
  • Holistic Lifestyle Coaching

Outside of work Alyssa lives and breathes health and fitness, enjoying Crossfit, gym, running, Yoga and getting outdoors especially with her adorable Alaskan Malamute Mischa. Practicing what she preaches, Alyssa maintains her body with several treatments per week, cooking and preparing nourishing meals as well as achieving recovery and relaxation through yoga.

Alyssa is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with her clients, helping them to achieve a better quality of life.

Steve

Steve is a passionate and progressive Osteopath with a passion for achieving outstanding patient outcomes. Put simply, he just wants to get you back to what you love doing pain-free.

With over 6 years clinic experience in private practice, along with multiple elite sporting clubs, Steve has developed a thorough skill set enabling him to provide personalised care for every client.

Steve’s approach to treatment is hollistic in nature that fundamentally focuses on returning your body to it’s optimum state. Utilising manual therapy techniques such as massage, dry needling, joing articulation and manipulation in conjunction with exercise prescription, Steve will provide you with an individualised management plan. Whether your goal is to achieve pain-free movement, improve posture or enhance sporting performance, Steve will work alongside you to achieve your desired results.

Outside of the clinic Steve is a keen sports fan. In particular Steve is a mad Essendon supporter, but he also enjoys basketball, soccer and formula 1. On weekends, you’ll find Steve being active, spending time with friends and family or relaxing with a beer.

Tom

Having worked in elite sporting facilities and private clinics, Thomas has experience in treating a variety of acute and chronic conditions and has since developed an interest in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of neck pain and headaches.

Personal experience with family members with chronic pain has inspired Thomas to educate himself about pain, injury, disease and potential treatments; this notion developed into his Osteopathic career and his passion for helping people return to and maintain their health.

As well as hands on treatment, Thomas incorporates dry needling, postural advice, exercises and practical lifestyle advice to assist in pain management and injury prevention.

In his spare time Thomas enjoys going on walking trails, travelling and trying new places to eat with friends and family.

Sam

Having worked in rural Queensland for the past 18 months, Sam has acquired great experience in treating a large variety of both people and conditions. Throughout his time in clinic, Sam has developed a strong interest in injury rehabilitation.

Pursuing his interest in injury rehab and prevention, as well as human movement as a whole, Sam is currently undertaking his Certificate 3 & 4 in Personal Training. Sam believes that this will be a great tool in not only providing injury rehabilitation but also to assist in diagnosis.

Sam’s passion for Osteopathy developed upon the idea of being able to take a holistic approach to health care. Being able to combine hands-on treatment, injury rehab/ prehab, lifestyle factors and education, is crucial in allowing Sam to provide specific, effective and quality healthcare to all his patients.

In his spare time Sam loves to be physically active, whether that be on the basketball court or in the gym (or anywhere in between). He is passionate to continue to learn and thoroughly enjoys both podcasts and books, particularly anything in the human movement realm.

Mitch

With a background working with elite level Rugby players at the Melbourne Rebels, Mitch is proficient in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation or a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological and chronic pain conditions.

As a passionate Myotherapist, Mitch strives to provide the best possible care and to assist in his patients gaining control of their health and well-being in order to facilitate physical, social and mental recovery from pain through the use of treatment and rehab exercises.

Mitch’s passion is to provide the best possible care and to assist his patients in gaining control over their health. His aim is to facilitate total physical, social and mental recovery through the use of treatment and rehabilitation exercises.

On the weekends Mitch enjoys miniature and terrain painting for tabletop games, gaming and relaxing with friends and family. Looking after his dog and cat whilst also staying active.

Courtney

Courtney joins us with a passion for helping clients be the best they can be in every aspect of their lives. Courtney strives to give clients the treatments and awareness they need to be the healthiest version of themselves. With a love for human anatomy and how the body works, Courtney works to ensure clients are able to continue to do what they love.

Courtney has a strong background in the sporting field being involved with basketball, tennis, football and gymnastics and has done volunteer work with the AFL draft, MSAC basketballers and netballers as well as circus performers. Courtney currently has continued her sporting passion by working with the Richmond Football Club.

Outside of work Courtney loves to play basketball weekly, weightlifting in the gym and has a strong passion for travelling and exploring.

James

James is an enthusiastic member of our Blyss reception/admin team.
James is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology, with future plans to complete post-graduate study in clinical Psychology. He is passionate about health and wellbeing, including the understanding of human behaviour, with special interests in the treatment of addiction and ADHD.

He loves to be active and is a keen cricketer and self-confessed cricket tragic. In his down time, you’ll find James spending time with his better-half and her tiny dog, or catching up with friends and family.

Laura

Laura is currently undergoing a Bachelor of Health Science (Osteopathy) / Masters of Osteopathy at Victoria University. Laura has a passion for all things health and wellness and empowering those around her to be the healthiest and happiest version of themselves.
Laura has a background in nutrition, studying both nutrition science and dietetics previously. Laura’s passion for health and nutrition stemmed from her own experiences managing different conditions and injuries over the years. Laura enjoys living an active lifestyle and educating those around her on the importance of fuelling themselves adequately for the gym, recovery and aiming for balance over restriction.
Prior to commencing at Blyss Laura has worked in hospitality, administration and in the hopsital setting. Laura loves getting to know those around her and having a positive influence on someones day.

In Laura’s spare time you will find her trying out a new cafe, spending time with her loves ones, by the beach, training, exploring new places or taking her golden retriever for a walk or beach swim.

Emily

Emily is one of our newest members of our reception / admin team at Blyss Therapies. She has previously studied a Bachelor of Psychology and completed her Cert III in Fitness.

In 2024, Emily will be commencing her Bachelor of Health Science (Osteopathy) / Masters of Osteopathy at RMIT.

Ava

Ava is one of the newest team members here at BLYSS and joins our admin team! ✨

Ava is enrolled in a Bachelor of Science, Masters of Teaching at Deakin Uni as well as a Diploma of Remedial Massage. Following completion, Ava then plans to further her studies by completing an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy. Ava has always had a deep passion for human anatomy, physiology and overall musculoskeletal health and wellbeing.

She brings to our team considerable experience in customer service, working previously in hospitality, administration in a high school setting, and development and marketing.

In her spare time she really enjoys weight training at the gym, yoga, camping and watching footy (go tiges! 🐯)
